Dear SEMOpx Members,

In the past seven days there have been disruptions to the service we provide on the M7 system. Firstly, SEMOpx would like to apologise for the inconvenience. We would like to assure our members that we take all unplanned outages very seriously and have been working hard to ensure stability in our markets.

SEMOpx has been working in close contact with our service provider and would like to inform you that with the M7 6.7 release on Tuesday 10 September 2019, significant architectural changes were also  made as part of our continued efforts to ensure increased reliability and performance. While we worked to stabilise this new infrastructure, we experienced periods of unplanned market disruption on Wednesday, 11 September 2019. Few members may have also experienced some changes in behaviour with their user session connectivity or message distribution. These behaviours have now been carefully addressed per your direct input.

While the issues encountered following the M7 6.7 upgrade were stabilised shortly after the release, disruption to the market was further exacerbated during the weekend due to widespread networking issues encountered as a side effect of planned, unrelated maintenance activities within the service provider’s data-centre. SEMOpx will in future inform you of any upcoming maintenance, irrespective of whether or not an impact is expected to the trading system.

Further to the aforementioned issues we are continuing the work to improve the robustness of the system and additional enhancements will be installed into production during the next monthly scheduled maintenance.

We apologise again for the recent issues, and we assure you that the performance, reliability and availability of M7 are priorities for us and our service provider.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you require any further information.

Regards,

SEMOpx Team
